Development Department
The
Community Development Department facilitates Kernersville's
growth management planning and regulations. The Department
consists of two divisions:

Planning Division
•
Permit and
Enforcement Division
The
service goal of the Community Development Department is to
provide a “one-stop office” that assists the public and the
development industries with all their
planning, economic
development,
permitting,
enforcement, and data
needs.
“As
Vice President of Acquisitions and Development for Langley
Properties, I had the opportunity to work with the Town during
the redevelopment of Southside Square Shopping Center . We
found the Community Development staff to take a consultative
approach to helping us through the rezoning of the property,
permitting, construction of the property and receiving final
COs . If we had any question or concerns, the
Community Development Department was the first call we would
make. I felt that the Town was really a part of the
team in the redevelopment of a blighted property.”
