Ernie is originally from Miami, FL and has served as the Recreation Supervisor since January ‘02. He has a Bachelors Degree from Catawba College in Recreation Administration and is an active member of both the National Recreation & Park Association and the North Carolina Recreation & Park Association. He came to the Town of Kernersville from the City of Salisbury where he served as Recreation Coordinator. Ernie became a Certified Parks & Recreation Professional in 2000 and was the recipient of the Outstanding Young Professional Award for the State of North Carolina in 2002. He has many responsibilities including, but not limited to, programs, special events, Risk Management Chair, Kernersville Cares for Kids representative, Town of Kernersville Wellness Committee member, and public speaking.  Ernie is also bi-lingual in Spanish and English and enhances the Parks and Recreation Department's connection with the community.

David is a Kernersville native and has served as Park Maintenance Supervisor since 1994. He was promoted in June of 2006.   David has over 20 years experience in construction and turf grass management and is an active member of the NC Turf Grass Council and Professional Turf Grass Managers Association. David was named the Town of Kernersville Employee of the Year for 2001 and continues to be an asset to the Town and the Kernersville Parks and Recreation Department.

Brandi has been a member of our team since March '06 and was recently recognized by her coworkers as MVP (Most Valuable Person).  With a degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism from Radford University, VA., she brings diverse programs and special events to the citizens of Kernersville.   Brandi is a member of the National Recreation & Parks Association, N.C. Recreation & Parks Association, National Speleological Society, and a certified Ropes Course Leader.  She especially enjoys incorporating environmental awareness into children's programs.  As a native of VA., animal lover, and avid traveler, Brandi is a true outdoorswoman with a passion for experiential education. She has been a N.C. resident since January ‘06, and we are excited to have her on board.

Jerri has been with the Town since May of 2002.  She took over the Marketing for KPRD in March 2006.  In addition to being a representative at major Town events, Jerri is responsible for media relations, press releases, website design and maintenance, corporate sponsorships and partnerships, plus marketing of events, programs and parks.  She is a member of the NRPA, NCRPA, Korner's Folly Foundation Board Member, and serves on the Town of Kernersville Wellness Committee as well as several committees at the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce.   Jerri was nominated as the Parks & Recreation Department's Employee of the Year for 2005 and is a 2007 Leadership Kernersville graduate.   She is originally from W.V. but has called N.C. home since 1989.

Jason has been a part of the KPRD maintenance staff since March 1999 and is a Kernersville native.  He was promoted in July 2006 and is integral to the operations of our parks and facilities.  He is a member of the KPRD Risk Management Committee and an asset to our department.  Jason was nominated as the Parks & Recreation Department's Employee of the Year for 2006.  His experience brings a well-rounded knowledge of Kernersville Parks & Recreation's responsibilities to the public in services and safety.

David has lived in the area since 2001 and worked with the Town Public Works Department for a year.  He was promoted in August 2007 to Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.   David is a certified welder and a jack- of-all-trades.  He is skilled in heating & air, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and more.  He has almost 20 years of grounds and building maintenance experience.  David also has his Rescue Diver Certification and enjoys deep sea fishing and being outdoors in his spare time.  We are glad to have you and the well-rounded knowledge and skills that you bring.  David was also chosen as Kernersville Parks & Recreation Employee of the Year for 2007.

John is originally from Elkin, NC and has served as our Landscape Specialist since 1999. He is a graduate of NC State's Agricultural Institute and was previously a Greenhouse Production Manager.  John is a member of the Urban Forestry Foundation and the Arbor Day Society.  He represents Parks & Recreation as a volunteer for the United Way, Risk Management Committee, Community Appearance Commission.   John contributes in many ways to the beautification or our parks and the Town of Kernersville.

Kristi is normally in the office from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  She handles all registrations, reservations, and general information inquiries.  Kristi is the gatekeeper for our department and does her job well!
