Correct street naming/addressing assignment is imperative to the safety of the general public by facilitating the finding of residential dwellings and businesses for the delivery of public and private goods and services.  Kernersville’s Community Development Department is the only agency with the authority to assign or modify street addresses within Kernersville’s zoning jurisdiction.  New and existing buildings shall have approved address numbers, with suite/unit numbers if applicable, placed in a position that is plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property in accordance with the NC Fire Code and Town of Kernersville Code of Ordinances, Chapter 4; Article II – House Numbers.
