The Town of Kernersville has developed several programs to help educate citizens interested in learning about their local environment, streams, water quality, and their ecological address. Programs include watershed overview and education, stream education 101, backyard stream repair, stormwater education, stormwater BMP management and retrofit, backyard rain gardens, backyard wetlands, recycling and good housekeeping practices (leaf litter, yard waste, oil, grease, paint and fertilizer application). Custom topics negotiable as time allows.

Town staff are available during the work week to offer instruction to groups and local schools.

If you would like additional information, to schedule a speaker for your group or would like the town to aid in classroom teaching lessons or scout education, contact Wendi Hartup, 336-564-1613, or request a presentation online.
