Forsyth County Housing Rehabilitation Assistance

Urgent Repair Program & Essential Single-Family Rehabilitation

The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA), under cycles of the Urgent Repair Program (URP) and Essential Single-Family Rehabilitation (ESFR), has awarded Forsyth County to assist County residents (outside of Winston Salem city-limits) in their home rehabilitation needs. These programs provide funds to assist low-income households (under 80% of area median income) in addressing housing conditions which may pose imminent threats to safety or of displacement. Accessibility modifications are also eligible. Applicants must own and occupy the home, as well as meet “special need” criteria (elderly, disabled, veteran, etc.).

Eligibility is subject to NCHFA’s program policies, annually issued HUD guidelines, and other requirements detailed in Forsyth County’s Housing Rehabilitation Assistance Policy.

The County anticipates serving 14 households under URP and 5 households under ESFR during their grant periods. Applications are being accepted now and will continue to be accepted as funds are available.
