Kernersville Comprehensive Plan

Beginning in December 2024, Town residents, business owners, community organizations, stakeholders, elected officials, and staff worked together to shape the vision and recommendations outlined in Kernersville’s new Comprehensive Plan.

After extensive community input and many rounds of review, the Board of Aldermen adopted the Comprehensive Plan on August 26, 2026.

The plan, which was last updated in 2014, aims to guide development for the next decade and beyond: preserving Kernersville’s small-town character while promoting economic development, seeking increased connectivity to open space and improved transportation, and encouraging a broad range of housing options.
