Invitation to Bid – Kernersville Fire Rescue Station No. 42

 

INVITATION FOR BIDS

The Town of Kernersville will receive sealed bids for the construction of the new Kernersville Fire Rescue Station No. 42. The work includes General, Site, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical work to be constructed under one Single Prime Contract. The extent of work is shown on the drawings and specified in the project manual.

Bids Due:  Sealed Bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. , on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in the Training Room at Kernersville Fire Station No. 1 located at 316 West Bodenhamer Street, Kernersville, NC 27284.

Project Location:  The project is located at 1180 Hwy 66 South, Kernersville, NC 27284

Pre-Bid Conference:  There will be a pre-bid conference held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, July 10, 2017 in the training room at Kernersville Fire Station No. 1 located at 316 W. Bodenhamer Street; Kernersville, NC 27284 followed by a visit to the job site located at 1180 Hwy 66 South, Kernersville, NC 27284. All General Contractors are encouraged to be represented at the conference.

Drawing & Specification Availability:  Prospective bidders may order complete sets of plans and specifications online beginning Tuesday, June 27, 2017 for a non-refundable charge of $325.00 (plus tax) at the following:

Bid Bond:  Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier’s check or a certified check drawn on a bank of trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation made payable to The Town of Kernersville in an amount of five percent (5%) of the gross amount of the base bid or by a bond in the above amount executed in accordance with and conditioned as prescribed by G.S. 143-129, State of North Carolina. If the successful bidder fails to give satisfactory surety as required by law, the above deposit will be retained by the Owner. All contractors are hereby notified that they shall be properly licensed under the state laws governing their trades.

Performance and Payment Bonds:  The successful General Contractor will be asked to provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond for 100% of Contract Amount after selection.

 

Late receipt of bids will not be considered or accepted. It is the responsibility of the bidder to insure his bid is received before the hour given above. Bidder may withdraw his / her bid 72 hours after the bid opening, not including Saturdays, Sundays, or other days (such as holidays) on which the local government offices are closed.   The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities.

The Town of Kernersville, North Carolina reserves the right to increase or diminish the quantities or items given in the Proposal and to award Contracts, which appear to be in the best interest of the Town.

Bids for this project shall be guaranteed by all bidders for a period of 60 calendar days following the bid opening.
