Town of Kernersville (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:
Kernersville Medical Parkway Sewer Extension
Pursuant to NC G.S. 143‐129, sealed Bids for the construction of the Kernersville Medical Parkway Sewer Extension project will be received by Town of Kernersville, at 134 East Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC 27284 until 2:00 PM local time on May 18, 2023, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Bids may be submitted by mail or courier. Bids received after this time will not be accepted.
Scope of Work:
The project consists of installing just over 1,200 linear feet of 8″ DIP gravity sewer, primarily by open cut methods, but also including a 50 linear foot bore and jack under the West Fork Deep River. The proposed gravity sewer will be tied in to an existing 15″ VCP gravity sewer outfall on the opposite side of the stream from the project site using a doghouse manhole.

Pre-Bid Conference:
This is the second bid advertisement for this project. A pre-bid conference was held previously at 2:00 PM local time on April 25, 2023 at 134 East Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC 27284. Attendance at the pre-bid conference was not mandatory. The pre-bid conference agenda is within Addendum 1 of the bidding documents.
All bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount bid made payable to Town of Kernersville. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 consecutive calendar days after bid opening except as provided in Instructions to Bidders. Bidders must be licensed contractors in the state(s) in which the work is to be completed.
