Creek Week-Frog Walk For Kids

March 16 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Learn about our local frogs and toads with a walk through the wetlands of Ivey Redmon Park (in the woods behind the playing fields). Led by Foothills outings leader, Henry Fansler, and Wendi Hartup, Kernersville Stormwater Manager, the frog walks will begin with a brief presentation about what species you may see or hear, how to identify them and their important role in habitats. A N.C. toad and frog call app is available at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.johneyboy.frogcalls&hl=enUS&gl=US.

Anyone participating in this activity should be prepared for wet, muddy conditions and dress for the weather. We will meet at the soccer field parking lot.Participants under 18 must be with a parent or guardian. Register with Henry Fansler at [email protected] or 336.473.0283 and indicate which walk you’re attending. Note that the Sierra Club requires all outing participants to sign a standard waiver.

Meet near the playground next to the parking lot of the Ivey Redmon Sports Complex, 788 Beeson Road, Kernersville.  MAP
